We operate scheduled day and private sightseeing tours all year round and currently are the only operator in South Wales to do so.

We welcome children above the age of 10 (ten) when accompanied with an adult, however for insurance and safeguarding reasons, we are unable to accept anybody under the age of 18 (eighteen) travelling alone.

Yes. Wheelchair accessible vehicles and wheelchairs are available on request. Just let us know your requirements at the time of booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate and ensure you’re comfortable travelling with us.

We always advise that you take out travel insurance.

The best way to book your sightseeing tour is to book online at Roam Wales.

Choose your preferred tour, complete the ‘Book the tour’ form on the tour page, and click ‘Book Now’. You will then be taken to your tour basket where you can then check your chosen tour, before making payment and completing your checkout.

We will then begin to process your tour booking request and send you a confirmation email once the tour booking has been confirmed.

Alternatively, you can book via a local Tourist Information Office or at a selection of South Wales’ leading hotels. Keep an eye out for our leaflets in information stands.

Please choose your preferred payment method at the checkout. Full payment before the start of your chosen tour will secure your booking.

When booking sightseeing tours online, you can book up to 12 months in advance.

Whilst we don’t recommend it, so as to the avoid disappointment of missing out, should we still have availability we accept tour bookings right up to two days before departure.

If you need to cancel your tour booking, our cancellation policy will apply.

Day Tours – we have a minimum notice period of 72 (seventy-two) hours before the tour departure time of 09.45.

Private Tours – we have a minimum notice period of 21 (twenty-one) days before the date of the tour.

Should you give us sufficient notice (as outlined above), we make a charge of 10% of the total booking price as an admin fee to cover our time and costs. The remaining balance will be refunded to you.

If you do not give us sufficient notice, we will be unable to refund your tour booking.

Joining your tour

All our scheduled day tours depart from our convenient departure point outside the front of the Eglwys Dewi Sant on St Andrew’s Crescent, in the heart of Cardiff City Centre.

 

 

Full details on joining your chosen tour are sent upon confirmation of your tour booking.

If you require collection from a location other than our departure point, we recommend enquiring about a Private Sightseeing Tour.

Please arrive at least a few minutes before the advertised departure time of the tour, so that our driver guide can complete a head count and make a prompt departure at the scheduled tour start time.

Should you arrive early there are numerous coffee shops and cafés close by that are open from 9am and have a fantastic range of breakfast and coffee options.

To ensure maximum comfort for all guests, luggage on board our tour vehicles is restricted to one small bag e.g. handbag. or backpack, for personal carry on items.

We are only able to accept larger items of luggage e.g. a medium size suitcase or a bag up to a max of 15kg, on board our tour vehicles on a Private Tour.

If you are running late, no problem – just let our driver guide know by calling the telephone number provided in your tour booking confirmation email.

However, if you miss the tour completely, our cancellation policy as detailed in our Terms and Conditions applies.

During your tour

On most of our tours, there are ample opportunities to explore the destinations we visit, so we would recommend wearing comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for this, and of course, the famously unpredictable Welsh weather.

There will be opportunities to purchase refreshments on your tour. Please check the tour itinerary for further information.

We do not include expenses for entry to attractions in our tour price.

On the tours where we visit attractions or landmarks that have an entrance price, we provide a link on said tour page to the attraction. This’ll provide you with plenty of useful information, including their latest prices. Entrance fees can be paid in advance or on the day, with the majority of attractions accepting payment via all major credit or debit cards, or cash.

Our tours are in English (but naturally, with a Welsh accent).

Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities in the vehicle, but the itinerary will allow for comfort breaks.

After your tour

Our driver guides will not ask, nor do they expect a tip. If you feel they have done an exceptional job and want to give them positive feedback, tipping is completely left at your discretion.
