Depart from Cardiff
Our private tours leave either from our standard departure point at St Andrew’s Crescent in central Cardiff, or from your hotel in Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Alternative departure points may be available – please enquire for details.
Cardiff Castle
We drive around the capital’s castle, located in the city centre. Cardiff Castle was of great strategic importance as the home to the powerful Romans during their occupation of Wales. Its rich history is reflected in its construction, which combines building work across many centuries from Gothic to Norman and Roman architecture.
Castell Coch
Castell Coch, which translates in Welsh as red castle, is also known as the ‘fairytale castle’ thanks to its tapered turrets and conical rooves. Although built in the 1870s, this charming castle is medieval in style and was built as a country retreat for the third Marquess of Bute, one of Britain’s richest men.
Caerphilly Castle
Caerphilly Castle is Wales’ largest and Britain’s second largest castle behind Windsor. This formidable fortress boasts an extensive ring of water defences and huge gatehouses and was built mainly in the 13th century. After exploring this magnificent castle from the inside out (an admission charge is payable), there is time for refreshments in town of Caerphilly before the sightseeing tour continues.
Brecon Beacons
One of Wales’ 3 National Parks, the Brecon Beacons, has some stunning scenery which you can enjoy as we drive through the rolling hills to the northern part of the mountains.
Penderyn Distillery
One of the world’s smallest distilleries, Penderyn Distillery produces award winning single malt whiskies and spirits from their base in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We spend time in the visitors’ centre, where you have the opportunity to sample the whiskies and purchase gifts from the shop. In addition, there is the opportunity to take the distillery tour (at an additional cost) if you wish to do so.
Return to Cardiff
We return to central Cardiff, leaving you free to enjoy your evening in Wales’ capital city.

Private tour of the South Wales countryside… a definite highlight was our sighting of wild Welsh horses grazing! A truly memorable time in South Wales. We look forward to our next adventure with you!
Roam Wales made me wish I had a longer stay in this beautiful and friendly country… the tour guide was always courteous. I got to spend enough time at each site and not felt rushed at all.
I cannot give enough praise to this company! …enjoyed every minute of our day… the tour was perfectly paced. We will definitely be using the company again.
The tour was educational and informative as well as scenic… the Brecon Beacons was an absolutely beautiful area. Our guide was great, our transportation was the best so I would recommend this tour to all.
Very helpful from beginning to end…our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We had a clear day and could see for miles around the Brecon Beacons…the scenery and views were just spectacular. I couldn’t get enough and was sad to leave.
