Our Golden Gower sightseeing day tour begins in the city of Swansea, discovering more about Wales’ most famous poet, at the Dylan Thomas Centre. We then visit the quaint village of Mumbles, with its pier, lighthouse and Lovespoon Gallery. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Gower coast, with an optional coastal walk from Langland Bay to Caswell Bay, as we head towards the magnificent Rhossili Bay and Worm’s Head.

Depart from Cardiff

Our departure point is conveniently located in the centre of Cardiff, on St Andrew’s Crescent and is easily reached by train, car or on foot.

Dylan Thomas Centre

The Dylan Thomas Centre is dedicated to Wales’ most famous poet and is home to the permanent exhibition, ‘Love the Words’. Here you can learn more about the life and works of this famous Welshman, who after Shakespeare is the most quoted writer in the English language. You can also hear some of the world’s most famous voices (including King Charles) reading lines from Dylan Thomas’ works.

* Please note, the tour does not stop here on Tuesday as unfortunately the exhibition centre is closed. This stop is completely excluded between the months of November and March.

Mumbles Village

The quaint village of Mumbles (also known as Oystermouth) is known as the ‘Gateway to the Gower’ and marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula’s coastline. It is steeped in history and tradition. Mumbles is famous as the place where the world’s first passenger railway journey took place in 1807, as well as traditional Welsh gifts at the Lovespoon Gallery.

Langland and Caswell Bay

Ever popular, the coastal walk from Langland Bay to the glorious sandy beach of Caswell Bay is a real ‘must see’. With stunning views of amazing coastal scenery, this path offers the chance to spot wildlife such as rare birds, grey seals, lizards and even adders or a basking shark! The rock formations in the cliffs here are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Rhossili and Worm's Head

Voted number one in Rough Guides ‘Most Beautiful Beaches in Wales’ 2022, Rhossili Bay encompasses one of the Gower’s most famous landmarks, Worm’s Head. This one of the most beautiful places in the UK and the views are beyond compare.

Return to Cardiff

We return to central Cardiff, leaving you free to enjoy your evening in Wales’ capital city.
