Big Pit National Coal Museum

Big Pit is a real coal mine, as well as a mining museum and one of Wales’ most popular attractions. During your visit to Big Pit National Coal Museum, you will descend 90 metres and experience the famous underground tour with a real miner. You can also enjoy a multi-media tour in the Mining Galleries, see exhibitions in the Pithead Baths and explore the historic colliery buildings.

Blaenavon World Heritage Centre

Enjoy a refreshment break with an overview of the Blaenavon industrial landscape, shaped over millions of years. At the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre, interactive displays and videos let you discover the history, geology and infrastructure of when ‘Coal was King’ and Blaenavon was a leader in the mining and iron industry.

We drive through the South-East part of the famous Brecon Beacons National Park, with its stunning scenery and mountain views.

Abergavenny Town

Abergavenny, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Black Mountains, can tell many a tale, from Roman occupation to its present day as a farming and market town. You will have free time to experience the unique shops and various markets held throughout the month, including antiques and local produce, as well as the selection of restaurants and cafes. Or you can step back in time and explore historic Abergavenny castle, built by the Normans.
